Binary Opposition at the Lowry

Two of our PRG members, Kevin Egan and Rachel Rimmer-Piekarczyk are part of the theatre company Reckless Sleepers . They joined the company at the Lowry on the 7th and 8th October for the premier of their new performance, Binary Opposition.

Â
Binary Opposition consists oft wo identical rooms, set out on stage by an imposing wooden structure, parallel scenarios unfold as the company draws from two decades’ worth of performance work, pulling parts of different shows together to create this bold, unique mash-up.
In one room, performers face the crowd head-on; in the other, backs are kept to the audience throughout. In one room, it may be snowing, while the sun beats down in the other. Across the spaces, Reckless Sleepers explore entrances and exits, mistaken identities, and the collision of time and space.
With over 20 years of source material to delve into, there is an endless myriad of scenarios that could potentially play out. The performance has evolved further through workshops with children and young people, both in the UK and Europe.
