Welcome to our new members!

We have gained two new members over the summer! Anna McNamara and Jeremie Cyr-Cooke have joined the Performance Research Group bringing our total to 26 members across different faculties.

Anna McNamara has joined Manchester Metropolitan University as Director of Manchester School of Theatre and Professor of Actor Training. Anna joins Manchester School of Theatre from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), where she was Director of Learning and Teaching. Prior to this, she held a series of senior academic roles at the Guildford School of Acting (GSA).

Jeremie Cyr-Cooke has joined Manchester School of Theatre as a Lecturer in Actor Training.

Jérémie is a performer, theatremaker, movement director, and researcher. Following his professional actor-training in Canada, Jérémie moved to Ireland, establishing Cuisle Productions – an independent physical theatre company. He holds an MA in Theatre Practice & Production and recently completed his PhD (PaR) in physical theatre as a methodology of adaptation. His teaching experience spans 12+ years at various levels of education.

Jeremie has started an R&D project through his theatre company, Cuisle Productions. Working with graduate students from Norwich University of the Arts, the project, Hollow, uses physical theatre, puppetry, text-based work, and devised practices to explore the imagination as a coping mechanism, particularly within themes/ experiences of displacement.
