Spitfire Girls, directed by PRG member Seán Aydon

Spitfire Girls, a play by Katherine Senior, is set to return with a second UK tour in spring 2026. This production was directed by PRG member Seán Aydon.
Seán is a director and writer whose credits include national tours of The Picture of Dorian Gray, Frankenstein & The School For Scandal. His productions have played at venues including York Theatre Royal, Theatre by the Lake, Hull Truck, Northampton Royal & Derngate, Richmond Theatre, Ispwich New Wolsey, Derby Theatre & Shakespeare North. He has a strong interest in new writing and has been part of new writing developments at the NT Studio, Young Vic, the Old Vic, the Arts Theatre (Leicester Square), Seven Dials Playhouse and Theatre 503.
The play Spitfire Girls first opened at MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton in March 2025 before touring to ten venues across the UK. Set on New Year’s Eve in 1959, it follows two women reunited years after their service in the Second World War. It has been developed with support from the National Theatre Generate Programme and is presented in collaboration with the Royal British Legion.
