Manchester School of Art Research Groups Conference

On Monday 19 January, members of PRG presented at this conference: Connecting People and Practices: Manchester School of Art Research Groups Conference. This was an exciting one-day event which gave us the opportunity to celebrate the creativity and excellence of the School’s research community, showcase current projects, and promote collaboration and networking.
Manchester School of Art is home to 16 active research groups across Architecture, Art and Performance, Design, Fashion, and SODA. They include many colleagues who regularly exhibit in major galleries worldwide, lead community engagement projects, explore new forms of expression through digital technologies, and publish world-leading research. In the most recent REF, our art and design research was ranked 2nd in the UK for overall research power.
The PRG members involved were Jenny Baines and Brigid McLeer on An Image is an Act not a Thing,

Dan Dubowitz on Encounter Protocol,

Adinda van’t Klooster on Emote VR Voicer, and Michael Pinchbeck on Granny Jackson’s Dead. The focus was on how the Performance Research Group collaborates across disciplines.
