Social Experiment- Student Edition
Social Experiment – Student Edition is a new context for supporting and showcasing the work of student artists in the North West working in live art/contemporary performance. It is part of an ongoing collaborative project between Manchester School of Theatre, Contact Theatre and Manchester producers Word of Warning.
The inaugural Social Experiment – Student Edition took place at Contact on Thursday 5th June and was produced and presented by students on MST’s MA Performance, with production mentoring by live art producer hÅb, curatorial support from MST’s and PRG’s Neil Mackenzie, venue support from Contact and financial support from MMU’s Careers Service.
Constructed around a curation of 6 short pieces by student artists from across the region, the event brought together durational, screen based, interactive and end-on performances, as well as providing networking, feedback and relationship building support for all artists present. Planning to establish it as an annual event is underway.
