Miss Brexit at Contact

Member of PGR and Director Amaia Mugica has co-directed the play Miss Brexit, a satirical piece that uses humour, theatre and original music to explore migrant experiences in the UK.

Devised from scratch three years ago, the play has toured to international theatre festivals and won two awards. Last year, Amaia successfully secured ACE funding for the productions redevelopment and an innovative outreach project. Miss Brexit showcases Amaia’s interest in migrants in theatre alongside other themes. The devising process embraced her theatre making process: creating from, with and through the body; bringing a unique physicality to this piece.
